Warring States Bronze
Crossbow
Arrows and Darts (475 BC - 221 BC) One
of
the
most
deadly
Chinese weapons during the Warring States period,
475 BC to 221 BC, was the crossbow. These
crossbows fired a variety of very sharp, well designed arrows
or darts. Three such darts are shown below. Their exact
attribution is difficult.
Details The points of the three arrows show different designs. The smaller arrows on the left and right are three fold symmetric. The larger arrow in the middle has a flattened 4 sided tip, which has been pressure attached to the shaft.
Another example of a 3 fold symmetric arrow tip. After casting, the three sides are sharpened as flat surfaces producing a razor sharp dart. References
