Early Neolithic Period Ban Chiang pot, Thailand

(2100 -  900 BC)

A representative example of an early period Ban Chiang pottery from Thailand. Early Ban Chiang pottery designs were rather heavy with less uniform coloration compared to later designs and their Chinese counterparts. The texturing and slightly raised ring around the girth are typical of early Ban Chiang pottery. This pot is 19 cm tall and 17 cm wide.
